Three years have passed since the last K, the world’s premier fair for the plastics and rubber industry, and everything has changed. Apart from the media attacks on plastic products, the industry also has other challenges to overcome, such as China’s import ban on plastic waste and constantly increasing recycling quotas entering into force. Lindner, the Austrian waste processing specialist, has decided to tackle the technical aspect of this challenge head-on. At K 2019 the manufacturer of bespoke recycling equipment will be showcasing highly productive, turnkey system solutions for plastics processing that create perfect material for subsequent extrusion, as well as the next generation of the tried-and-tested Micromat shredder series and an exciting new hot-wash system.

Once current ad campaigns by major brands are also taken into account, it’s clear that this is a huge opportunity served on a silver platter. ‘Consumers around the world are demanding that resources – and particularly polymers – are used sustainably and responsibly. Many manufacturers are already responding to this trend by trying to provide as many products as possible with at least some recycled material,’ explains Harald Hoffmann, Managing Director at Lindner WashTech. ‘Current developments also place ever higher demands on recycled materials. As a result, more and more companies are requesting input materials of high quality and purity for their extruders. We focus on laying the groundwork for optimum subsequent processing with our signature shredding and washing technologies,’ says Hoffmann.
However, it is not only the quality that counts but first and foremost economically efficient processing itself. ‘Excessive expenditure has a direct impact on the costs of the end product. It is therefore important that processing systems operate at maximum productivity,’ states Stefan Scheiflinger-Ehrenwerth, Head of Product Management at Lindner. ‘We have harnessed our experience over recent years to develop innovations and further optimise our existing portfolio. Besides the next generation of our tried-and-tested Micromat shredder series and a completely overhauled cutting system, we concentrated our development efforts on finding the ideal combination of shredding, washing, sorting and drying components. Furthermore, by having implemented NIR sorting technology and the new hot-wash system, we now sport a product range brimming with well-engineered, high-quality components for optimum output. At K 2019, we will be showcasing turnkey system solutions that give our clients the confidence to face the latest challenges head-on,’ says Stefan Scheiflinger-Ehrenwerth.
In addition to the indoor exhibition space in hall 9, booth D78/E75, Lindner Recyclingtech and its subsidiary Lindner WashTech will be showcasing their equipment in the outside area, booth 15.2, for the first time ever. Lindner’s system solution for post-consumer plastics recycling
The combination of Lindner Urraco 95 DK and Zeta Star 95 F2 DK is designed for particularly high throughputs of over 50 metric tons per hour. The perfect match of shredder and screen ensures constant P100 F05 output without material loss thanks to the fines being screened and separated. The shredder’s unbelievable performance and torque of 460,000 newton metres make it easy to process even difficult materials such as railway sleepers with maximum efficiency.
